Effectively works with anxiety, depression, anger management, school and work related stress, relationship issues (parent-teen conflicts, couples counseling), self-esteem, and addictions.

As a therapist in private practice my focus has been on helping clients develop coping strategies to deal with anxiety, anger, depression, relationship issues, parent/teen conflict, stress at work, and struggles at school. I also have experience helping couples communicate more effectively and repair damage from past issues.

Couples Counseling
Over the last couple of years I have expanded my practice to include couples counseling. This expansion involved additional education, training and supervision. Couples counseling is an area that I really enjoy. There is nothing better than helping a couple reconnect and find happiness once again.

Helping Children and Adolescents
I have been involved in education for the past eighteen years. I started my career in Norman Wells, located in the Northwest Territories, spent five years in Sherwood Park, two years in Lamont, seven years in Fort Saskatchewan and now am enjoying my third year back in Sherwood Park as a Counselor and School Administrator.

During my journey through the education system I have gained a wealth of experience with children, adolescents and young adults who suffer from anxiety, depression, emotional difficulties, and family dynamics such as parent teen conflicts and other relationship issues.

There is also the issue of transitioning from high school to the "real world", which some young adults struggle with. I can provide career counseling and guidance to help young adults identify their goals and gain direction, drive and motivation to achieve success in whatever path they have chosen.

As a school psychologist my focus is on identifying the learning needs of children, adolescents and young adults. We use Psychoeducational Assessments such as the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI-IV), the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-V) and the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS IV). The Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT-III) is also used to assist with diagnosis, eligibility, placement, and decisions regarding interventions.

Having a family of three children spanning from 26 years to 14 years of age, I bring a unique perspective to family dynamics, child development and effective parenting techniques.

I am a warm, caring individual with a good heart for helping others. My commitment is to actively use my training and experience to help meet my clients’ goals. Successful treatment will be a direct result of fostering a positive working relationship built on trust, honesty, and a spirit of collaboration.

Effectively works with anxiety, depression, anger management, life crisis and transition, school and work related stress, relationship issues (parent-teen conflicts, couples counseling), self-esteem, post-traumatic stress disorder, addictions, and family violence.

I am a Registered Psychologist who brings an accepting and nurturing presence in my work with individuals, couples and families to support them to heal, transform and attain balance in all dimensions of wellness. I take a holistic approach using hypnosis, EMDR, dreamwork, and emotion-focused and other mindfulness-based models and techniques.

I have extensive experience working with a diverse population experiencing psychological stress associated with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), childhood abuse and trauma, addictions, family violence, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, interpersonal relationship problems, and self/identity concerns.

In my practice, I am also influenced by psychodynamic and humanistic models. I work with those interested in a self-discovery process, often triggered by a life crisis or transition, feeling lost and depressed, or a sense of disconnection from self and others. We explore life purpose and meaning, increase awareness of personal qualities, abilities and gifts, and become empowered to create a more fulfilling life.

I will be offering a new workshop this November, Exploring the Dreamworld-A Beginner’s Journey. Find more information under “Workshops”!

Effectively works children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, anger management, life crisis and transition, and school related stress, relationship issues (parent-teen conflicts), and self-esteem.

I have experience working with children and adolescents. I offer help for youth to understand, process, and manage life transitions. Issues such as anxiety, depression, anger, identity, relationships, and self-esteem are common concerns for many young people.

I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with a passion for supporting children and adolescents and I emphasize building a warm, compassionate, and empathetic relationship with the young individuals I counsel. I enjoy working from a positive psychology perspective and employ Solution-Focused Therapy in my sessions.

During my undergrad training (at Blue Quills First Nations University, St. Paul, Alberta) I focused my studies on First Nations history, sociology, literature, and culture. I have worked with First Nations and Metis populations (here in Edmonton) as a family support worker for a family reunification program.

My practicum experience, during the completion of my Masters, has also provided me with the opportunity of working with LGBTQ+ individuals.

As a mother of three teenaged daughters (13, 15, and 18 years old), I have first hand experience learning with my children and growing as a person through parenting. I have also spent time with youth volunteering as a Girl Guides leader and soccer coach (ages U-4 to U-12, in St. Paul, Alberta).
